How to Find Big Walk Players Without Matchmaking

A practical and privacy-aware way to form a consistent Big Walk group using the moderated LFG process rather than random public codes.

Short answerThere is no built-in matchmaking; use the current r/BigWalk LFG megathread, state platform, region and availability, then exchange invites privately.

Big Walk has no matchmaking or automatic group finder. The official FAQ says the adventure is meant for a consistent group of friends, but launch-week community activity shows that players without a ready-made group are finding one through moderated LFG threads.

Use the current r/BigWalk LFG thread

The r/BigWalk community posts a dated Looking for Group thread. The verified 6 August thread had more than 300 replies when checked. Its instructions ask players to share their platform, region, availability and other useful details. Standalone LFG posts may be removed to keep the main feed readable.

The thread also says community-run groups are not hosted or endorsed by House House, public Discord/group invitations are not permitted there, and invite details should be exchanged privately. Follow the current thread rather than replying to an old code.

Write a useful LFG message

Include:

  • platform and whether crossplay is enabled;
  • broad region or time zone, not a street-level location;
  • language and age-range preference if relevant;
  • usual days and hours of availability;
  • whether the group is starting fresh or continuing a tower/challenge;
  • desired style: spoiler-light exploration, completion route or large chaotic group;
  • whether voice or in-game text chat is preferred.

Do not post a six-digit Join Code as a permanent profile detail. Codes are session-specific and may expire. Share the active code privately only when the group is ready to connect.

Choose the group size deliberately

The official range is 2–12 players. Reddit responses suggest different goals produce different preferences: some completion-focused players favor roughly four to six, while others enjoy the noise and unpredictability of eight to twelve. That is community experience, not an official “best number.” Choose the two-, three- or four-plus world for the minimum reliable attendance.

Avoid scams and unwanted invitations

Treat every unsolicited message, download, mod and external server as untrusted until verified. Do not install files merely to join a group. Do not share account credentials, payment details or personal contact information. If someone sends an untrusted link, inspect the domain and use the platform’s report/block tools instead of opening it.

An unofficial Discord can be useful for discovery, but it is not House House support. One Steam thread specifically warned about unsolicited Discord promotion; that supports a cautious approach rather than endorsing any single server.

Community signal

A Reddit player explicitly said the lack of friends and matchmaking could prevent them from playing; commenters directed them to a community server and offered to form a regular group. The active LFG megathreads provide a safer, traceable process. Use them to find people, then keep the actual session in Big Walk’s proximity voice or text system so outside calls do not bypass the game’s communication mechanics.

Does Big Walk have random matchmaking?

No. The official FAQ says Big Walk has no random matchmaking and is designed for a consistent group across multiple sessions. Organize players before launch, then join through a platform friend session or an active Join Code.

Is there an official Big Walk Discord?

The official sources checked for this guide do not establish a public Big Walk Discord. Treat servers promoted by players as unofficial unless House House or Panic links to them directly. Never install a download, enter account credentials or send payment merely to join a community server.
