Big Walk Lost Items: Blorbs, Backpack, Map & Lost and Found
An evidence-ranked recovery order for missing equipment and puzzle rewards, separating player-confirmed behavior from unresolved loss reports.

On this page
Big Walk does not publish an official item-by-item persistence table. The official FAQ confirms that the host keeps the shared autosave, but it does not say that every carried object, dropped blorb, backpack or map will return to one fixed place. The recovery order below comes from direct player reports and keeps unresolved losses separate from useful community checks.
What to do when a Big Walk item is missing
Use this order before assuming the shared save is broken:
- Check the tutorial-area Lost and Found. A Steam responder places it beside the big black ball and the sign explaining that reload items can appear there.
- Look for equipment that is present but unequipped. A backpack and its map may need to be picked up and equipped again rather than returning automatically to the player.
- Return to the item's normal spawn or puzzle location. One Steam follow-up says ordinary dropped items can return to their original spawn after a reload.
- Use the item scanner for a missing blorb or head. A player suggested scanning the island before resetting the session.
- If the blorb is still missing, restart the session and revisit the original puzzle location. Another player says completed-puzzle rewards can wait there to be collected again.
- Stop after the reversible checks. Do not delete, rename or overwrite the host save just to force an item reset. Back up the host save with the game closed before attempting any file-level recovery.
Steps 1–5 are community observations. The original posters did not positively confirm every proposed route, so the result can differ by item, session state or patch.
Backpack or map missing after rejoining
One Steam host reported that both the backpack and map disappeared after saving, exiting and hosting again. The reply says the items should be in the tutorial area beside the big black ball, where reload items appear, and that the player must pick them up and equip them again.
Treat this as the first place to check, not as a confirmed universal fix: the original poster did not return to report success. If the items are absent there, inspect the original pickup point and avoid repeatedly changing the save files. Use the Map Room guide if the group needs to unlock a replacement route rather than guessing coordinates without the portable map.
Lost blorbs or heads
A separate group reported losing two heads or blorbs. The two community suggestions were to use the item scanner while the session is active, or restart the session and revisit the already-completed puzzle locations.
The important boundary is that neither suggestion received an original-poster success confirmation. Search first, then restart the session once and check the original puzzle. Do not publish or follow a claim that every blorb always teleports to Lost and Found; the retained reports do not establish that rule.
Do items stay in Lost and Found between sessions?
In another Steam thread, a player later posted that items left in Lost and Found remained there between sessions. A follow-up answer also said an item dropped elsewhere would return to its normal spawn after a reload. This is the strongest positive persistence report in the current source set, but it is still a community observation rather than a developer specification.
For important puzzle rewards, storing them in the designated Lost and Found is better supported than leaving them in a vehicle or an arbitrary outdoor location. Keep the host save and a dated backup until the next session verifies the objects are present.
Items stored on the train disappeared
A Reddit group reported putting accumulated red puzzle rewards on the train before closing the game. The next day, the items were not on the train, in Lost and Found or at the original puzzle locations. The post documents all three checks but does not contain a verified recovery.
That case remains unresolved. It is evidence that the train should not be described as safe cross-session storage. If the same loss occurs, preserve the current host save, make a backup with the game closed and record the missing items and last known locations before trying community advice.
Community signal and evidence status
- Official baseline: the host owns the shared autosave; the FAQ does not document item-level persistence.
- Positive community report: items intentionally left in Lost and Found persisted into another session.
- Unconfirmed player suggestions: missing equipment may appear beside the tutorial area's big black ball; lost blorbs may be found with the item scanner or at their original puzzle after a restart.
- Unresolved report: puzzle rewards stored on the train disappeared and were not found at the three expected recovery locations.
Use the Save File guide before any manual backup or host transfer. File copying can preserve a test point, but it does not itself repair a missing item or a corrupted save.
