Big Walk System Requirements: Minimum and Recommended PC Specs

The official Steam specification translated into a practical pre-purchase checklist for Windows PCs and Apple Silicon Macs.

Short answerWindows needs 12 GB RAM and GTX 750 Ti-class graphics. Steam Mac requires macOS 15/M1/16 GB; Apple's store says macOS 12+.

Big Walk publishes separate Windows and Mac requirements on Steam. Check the complete processor, graphics, memory and operating-system line rather than comparing only the GPU name.

Windows minimum requirements

ComponentMinimum
Operating systemWindows 10, 64-bit
ProcessorIntel Core i7-7700K or AMD Ryzen 5 1600X
Memory12 GB RAM
GraphicsGeForce GTX 750 Ti 2 GB, Radeon R7 370 2 GB, or Intel Arc A380 6 GB

A 64-bit processor and operating system are required. Steam does not list a storage figure in the requirements returned for this guide, so this page will not invent one. Check the live store and available disk space before installation.

ComponentRecommended
Operating systemWindows 11, 64-bit
ProcessorIntel Core i5-10600K or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
Memory16 GB RAM
GraphicsGeForce GTX 1070 8 GB, Radeon RX 5600 XT 8 GB, or Intel Arc A750 8 GB

“Recommended” is a target supplied by the store, not a guarantee of one exact frame rate at every resolution. Background applications, drivers, thermal limits and the host’s network can still affect the session.

Steam Mac requirements

ComponentMinimumRecommended
Operating systemmacOS 15macOS 15
ProcessorApple M1 or newerApple M3 or newer
Memory16 GB RAM16 GB RAM

Steam requires Apple Silicon. Intel Macs are not included in Steam's table.

Mac App Store compatibility

The Mac App Store separately says macOS 12.0 or later, without giving a processor or memory minimum in its compatibility field. Because that is less specific and less strict than Steam's table, treat the requirements as distribution-specific. Let the Mac App Store check the intended machine before purchasing there; use the table above for Steam.

What to lower if performance is poor

House House’s troubleshooting sequence is straightforward:

  1. Open Settings > Graphics and lower Render Scale to reduce GPU load.
  2. Lower the Quality setting to reduce CPU and GPU load.
  3. Raise Render Scale gradually until the image and frame rate reach a useful balance.
  4. Install current graphics drivers if parts of the world appear missing or broken.

For a host, stable performance matters beyond personal smoothness. The official FAQ says a host’s low frame rate can contribute to network problems seen by the whole group. If everyone jitters or skips, lower the host’s settings or try a different host after checking the connection.

A quick compatibility check

On Windows, compare the exact CPU generation, total RAM and dedicated graphics to the minimum table. Integrated graphics with a familiar brand name are not automatically equivalent to the listed Arc A380. For Steam on Mac, open About This Mac and confirm the Apple chip, OS and 16 GB memory; for Apple's store, use its product-page compatibility check.

Finally, remember that passing the hardware requirement does not answer the multiplayer requirement: Big Walk needs at least two players and uses online hosting. Test the microphone or in-game text chat and choose a reliable host before the first long session.

How many gigs is Big Walk?

The checked Steam minimum and recommended tables do not list a storage figure. This guide will not turn an install observed on one device into an official requirement. Open the live Steam download screen, confirm the required space for the current build and keep additional free space for updates and temporary installation files.
